Laser Hair Removal

how-to-get-smooth-underarmsHow does it work?

Variable pulsed light is absorbed by the melanin in the hair and heated to a temperature that permanently disables the hair growth.

What areas can be treated?

This procedure works well on the face, neck, chest, arms, back, underarms, legs and bikini area.

What hairs cannot be treated?

The greater the contrast between your hair colour and your skin colour, the more easily we can achieve great results. If you have very blonde or red hair you will need to have a consultation with a practitioner to determine whether there is enough pigment in the hair for you to have a successful treatment. Grey or white hairs are not always suitable for this type of treatment, as they usually do not contain sufficient melanin to absorb light.

What is the treatment procedure?

After a full consultation the area to be treated will be prepared and the applicator head will be moved across in steps to ensure that the entire area is covered. Due to the large applicator head treatments can be performed quickly.

Are there any side effects?

Due to the personalised treatment settings determined by your therapist during consultation, you should not experience any side-effects. A slight reddening of the skin can occur immediately after your treatment. This is an indication of an effective treatment and will fade very quickly.

Why do I need multiple sessions?

Although the entire area to be treated is covered in each session, only hair that is in its active growing stage can be removed. Therefore a series of treatments is needed to catch all the hairs in this cycle. Sessions are ideally spaced 4 weeks apart.

Is there anything I need to do prior to or after this treatment?

Avoid sun exposure for at least 6 weeks prior to treatment and after treatment. Avoid waxing or plucking hair for a month prior to treatment. Hair can be shaved or trimmed 2 days before treatment.
